Summer is in full swing right now. Lots of daylight, warm temps, occasional afternoon thunderstorms. We’ve been wet wading, and enjoying hiking to find some colder water temps and eager fish. Hot Creek still having a decent action on top with tricos and caddis in the am, then try throwing terrestrials midday to the openings in the weeds. Upper O has tons of caddis flying around and lots of wild residents that will hit a big dry in the foam lines. There are a few bigger fish lurking around in the deep pools and nymping deep is how to get them. San Joaquin River is hovering around 80 cfs, and has been super fun with dry fly, or dry dropper rigs. Pretty cool to fish for browns, brookies, rainbows and goldens in the same water.
